Jackie Brown, Practice Manager Practice Manager Jackie Brown has been with York Animal Hospital since its opening in 1992. Beyond her many years of experience she has an associates degree from SUNY Morrisville and she has also attended the Veterinary Management Institute at Purdue University.

Jackie says, "Working at York Animal Hospital is very rewarding. We are a close-knit group that cares for one another as well as our clients and their much loved pets. I have enjoyed watching and being a part of the advancement in technology within the practice and look forward to where it will lead us in the future."

At home, she has two yellow Labs, two cats and two rabbits. When not working, Jackie says, "I enjoy gardening and spending time with my husband and our two sons, whom keep me busy with their many sporting events. I also enjoy spending time with my four-legged kids!"

Jamie McGrath, TBD Receptionist and Assistant Veterinary Technician Jamie McGrath has been with York Animal Hospital since August of 2004.

She says that much of the training she has received has been hands-on from our doctors and technicians here at the hospital. Jamie adds, "I like this hospital because the doctors are very educated and caring. All of the staff members get along like a big family, which flows over to our care for our clients and their pets. We try to treat everyone like part of our family. It's also a fun and exciting place to work."

Jamie enjoys taking care of her Jack Russell Terrier named Charlie. When she is not caring for her dog or working, she enjoys cooking, biking, gardening, and spending time with friends and family.

Sharon Young, Receptionist Receptionist Sharon Young has been with York Animal Hospital since March of 2001. In all, she has more than 35 years working in the pet care field ("Am I that old?" she jokes). Sharon has many years of experience with pets as she attended the New York School of Dog Grooming in 1978 and became a self-employed dog groomer for 30 years.

"I enjoy working here very much and feel very lucky to do so," she says. "My co-workers and employer are like family and we work very well together. We are serious about what we do, but manage to have some fun when we can."

At home, Sharon has one lab named Cali and two cats named Rajko and Joleigh. Beyond caring for her pets, Sharon enjoys instructing yoga classes, making jewelry and spending time with her family and friends.

Darlene Rubinrott, TBD Receptionist Darlene Rubinrott has been with York Animal Hospital since October of 2007. In addition to her duties at the Hospital, she is a volunteer with a local branch of Golden Retriever Rescue and has adopted numerous senior Golden Retrievers over the years.

Currently, Darlene and her family provide a home for 4 dogs, a pug named Sunshine, a golden retriever named Cosmo, a golden retriever named Max, a chocolate lab named Bug, 2 cats named Kitty and Cookie, 6 chickens, a guinea pig named Deisel and 4 horses and a water turtle named Earl.

When considering what makes her work so enjoyable, Darlene says, "The people here are wonderful to work with. All of us have a true love for our own pets as well as our clients' pets."

Beyond her work and caring for her menagerie of pets, Darlene enjoys caring for her three children, reading, gardening and small farm keeping.

Ranae HansonReceptionist Ranae Hanson has been with York Animal Hospital since March, 2011.

She says "York Animal Hospital is a wonderful place to work. I’ve also been a client here since 2001 and have referred many of my friends here. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Since I love animals and people, this job is a perfect fit for me!"

Ranae retired after 36 years of working with the public at Monroe Community College. She has owned, showed and co-bred Great Danes since 1980. Ranae is a member of the Great Dane Club of America, and the Tonawanda Valley Kennel Club. She has attended many seminars on the health and well-being of dogs. Ranae has also owned and bred Siamese cats, with her oldest having lived to 20 years! She hopes her many years of experience around people, dogs and cats will be an asset to York Animal Hospital.

At home, she currently has two Harlequin Great Danes, AKC Champion "Tripp" and "Bowie", a white Standard Poodle, Champion "Snake" and a once feral turned house cat named "Kitty".

Lindsay Norton, ReceptionistReceptionist, Veterinary Assistant, and Kennel Attendant Lindsay Norton has been with York Animal Hospital since June of 2012. A graduate of SUNY Oswego, she holds her bachelor's degree in Zoology with a minor in psychology.

A member of the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Humane Society of the US, she has also worked with animals in the past as an educational assistant and supervisor.

In addition to her friendly nature, Lindsay brings her talent for movie quotes. But most of all, as she explains, she loves working at York Animal Hospital because "we are all hard workers who know how to have fun and enjoy working together. Everybody respects each other and our clients. Also, we act like family and help each other out."

Lindsay has two guinea pig sisters, Blaze and Buttercup and  a cat named Sammie (in addition to several outdoor cats). She is family-oriented and loves being outdoors, especially when it comes to camping, fairs and concerts. She also likes playing softball, volleyball, and the drums.
